Balance from within
pH is more than measure used in science class – it’s also an indicator of health. If you recall from chemistry class, pH is a scale to measure acidity (0) and alkalinity (+14). Your body has a pH scale too. Ideally, it is slightly alkaline at pH 7.36. However, not all of us are in balance. Stress, smoking, and a diet high in sugar, processed fast foods can are acidic and strain the body’s normal functions.
Excess acidity in the body can increase the risk of illness and disease. For one, it can result in a lowered immune system and cause nutritional deficiencies.
To get your body back to its ideal alkaline state, increase the amount of raw fresh vegetables and fruit into your diet. Another way is to supplement with apple cider vinegar. Apple cider vinegar has long been used as a health tonic – and unlike other kinds of vinegar, has strong alkalinizing properties. Apple cider vinegar is also useful in balancing blood sugar levels, suppressing the appetite, increasing metabolism, and reducing water retention.
